Magnesium is one of 7 macrominerals that helps support nerve function, muscle function, the immune system, bone health and more. It can help ease sore muscles and cramping, reduce anxiety, alleviate migraines, and even aid in relaxation and improving sleep.
Magnesium is a macromineral, meaning our bodies needs at least 100mg a day. The recommended daily amount for adults is 310 - 420 milligrams. According to this study, It's estimated that roughly 60% do not achieve this daily recommended amount, and that 45% of Americans are magnesium deficient.
Magnesium deficiency can have a few symptoms raging from: muscle spasms and cramping, fatigue, and muscle weakness.
To boost magnesium levels, you can make a few simple adjustments to your diet by including foods with high magnesium, taking a daily oral supplement, or using a topical magnesium spray or lotion.
If you are interested in knowing on whether or not you are deficient in magnesium, I would recommend talking with your doctor or provider on different ways of testing!
Magnesium can be a natural laxative. For some, when taken orally, it can cause an upset stomach or even diarrhea. A not-so-fun side effect of oral magnesium supplementation. Fortunately, by administering magnesium topically, you can rest easy knowing you should not get an upset stomach. Applying magnesium via a lotion or spray avoids the digestive system all together! It can be a great alternative for those who have this side effect when taking magnesium as an oral supplement.
Everyone is different and it depends on how your magnesium levels were to begin with. We estimate 1-3 weeks to notice results if using it consistently. Some notice a sense of relaxation or restful sleep with the first application and some notice it after a few applications. As long as you remain consistent, you should see results within a few weeks if not sooner.
Some people do experience a tingling sensation after applying straight magnesium oil. This tingling can be do to a few reasons with the main being it's your body's way of telling you that you are quite low in magnesium. With consistent use and ss the body adjusts, the tingling sensation should go away.
Our magnesium lotion contains several other natural organic ingredients that tend to help alleviate or mask the tingling sensation as you are not applying the magnesium oil directly on your skin.
